I have always wondered why the Prodigal son decided to up and go. Historical fiction is a genre I like, and J R Bray has fleshed out a believable reason and explanation as to why. Excellent read, you will enjoy it.

After you have read this book, I am sure you will agree with me, that this is one of the best books ever written. I found it to be an unsurpassed masterpiece of action in a planned yet an unplanned journey blended with the reality of the journeys we may emotionally experience for ourselves in our own lives. The book's pages place the reader in a journey as your character awakens with the other special characters, as if you were in the journey amongst them. It is filled with gentle humor and laughter, emotion, desire, broken hearts, and love. Impressive and educational is the tradition of the times and culture in and out of Jerusalem, the marketplace, and the upbringing of family on this laboring "farmstead" called home. The author brings this experience to the forefront in a very educational and most historical and captivating way. Therefore, the artist is more than a writer. The author is an artist… an artist who paints a picture of a journey with friend characters and new characters that have surrounded Trintarious's life; both who may or may not have consumed his life to no return, expressing this in the most colorful fashion. The journey is one of lifes desires as is shown in the journey in our own lives in a "planned but partially planned" way. This journey shows how easily one can go astray by accepting the wrong road along the journey through life. "There is a way that seemeth right unto a man but the end…" is not always right... but the roots of home, family and friends can never inwardly be lost. So…one must ask, who or what is missing on this "planned but partially planned" journey and is such a journey worth the learning? A must read tear tissue book!

While the Parable of the Prodigal Son is so very familiar to us from the Gospel of Luke, reading it often leads me into imagining the details surrounding the events of that beloved story. What led the son to leave the security of his family estate? What conversations may have taken place? And as a mother I wonder what did his mother think and feel about the decision of her son? In his novel Trintarious, author JR Bray uses not only imagination, but research into the past to fill-in the details for his readers with colorful sights, aromatic scents, lively sounds, and important conversations that may have surrounded the son, his family, and his decision from long ago. Most importantly, Bray’s work reminds us that we all make mistakes, we are all in need of forgiveness, and most thankfully, we have a loving Father who is always waiting and watching with open arms for our return.

"Trintarious" by JR Bray is a literary gem that takes readers on a remarkable journey through a world of imagination, adventure, and self-discovery. From the very first page, I was entranced by Bray's masterful storytelling and intricate narrative.
Set in a vividly crafted universe, "Trintarious" introduces us to a cast of characters who are both relatable and fantastical. Each character is thoughtfully developed, making them feel like old friends by the time the story reaches its climax. The protagonist's journey of growth and self-realization is beautifully portrayed, and their evolution throughout the story is both inspiring and heartwarming.
One of the aspects that truly sets "Trintarious" apart is Bray's eloquent prose. The author's command over language is evident in every sentence, painting scenes so vividly that I felt transported into the world of the story. The descriptions are rich, evocative, and sensory, creating an immersive reading experience that is a true delight.
The pacing of the book is expertly handled, with a perfect balance between moments of quiet introspection and heart-pounding action. The story's twists and turns kept me engaged and eager to turn the page, while its underlying themes of friendship, courage, and the power of embracing one's true self added depth and resonance to the narrative.
JR Bray's ability to seamlessly weave together intricate plot threads is commendable. The world-building is meticulous, providing a backdrop that feels authentic and dynamic. The way the author integrates the prodigal son in a real like story is nothing short of masterful, making "Trintarious" a standout read.
In conclusion, "Trintarious" by JR Bray is a triumph of storytelling that captivates from beginning to end. With its memorable characters, lush descriptions, and engaging plot, it's a book that lingers in the mind long after the final page is turned. This is simply a beautifully written tale, "Trintarious" is a must-read that deserves a special place on your bookshelf.
JR Bray has crafted a literary treasure with "Trintarious," and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone in search of a captivating and unforgettable reading experience.

The BookViral Review:
With meticulous research and attention to detail, J.R. Bray brings the parable of the prodigal son alive in ‘Trintarious-A Prodigal Son Story’. Despite the use of artistic licence, Bray nevertheless keeps the true essence of the story alive, complete with its well-learned lessons of compassion and humility. His exceptional understanding of biblical times and traditions serves to set a realistic and believable backdrop to his narrative, as he effortlessly creates the hustle and bustle of Israelite life and the differences between their traditions and beliefs to those of surrounding nations.
Moreover, he cleverly aligns the youth in his book with those of today, creating the shared emotions and realistic perceptions of young people throughout the ages, such as yearning for independence and sexual exploration. This brings the parable up to date, allowing its worthy lessons to be transported across time, and therefore accessible and of benefit to modern generations.
However, this is not just a re-vamp of an ancient story., with sophisticated, fully developed and complex characters, which blend and shift effortlessly throughout the book, resulting in an offering which is warm and inclusive, but does not shy away from the realism of multi-faceted relationships. It also leaves room for immature decisions, along with true forgiveness and acceptance of others despite imperfection.
Bray also presents his players as multi-faceted and realistic, such as with Trin’s relationship with his camel, Trista, gifted to him in his fifteenth summer, and with whom he develops a close and caring bond, and his foray into drink and women, despite his obvious attraction to Dayana, a young Jewish girl. This refusal to sugar-coat his protagonist ensures his relatability and presents his decisions and their outcome as a perfectly normal rite of passage towards adulthood, thus avoiding the shaming of certain behaviours which can be linked to religious traditions.
A thoroughly enjoyable read, ‘Trintarious-A Prodigal Son Story’, is firmly recommended.
